415 Sports is a multimedia art project by Elliot Bamberger and Josh Meer, two artists from San Francisco, CA.
We were fortunate to grow up in a city with a rich sports history. Apart from rooting for the home teams, we became big fans of their gear, specifically originating from the ‘80s, ‘90s, and early ‘00s. While that time in San Francisco lore is well known as the height of the 49ers’ prowess, each of the three teams featured in this project had loud, colorful, and striking apparel that stood out and always made a statement.
From seemingly endless hunting via eBay auctions to happening upon the right garage sales, and even to securing lucky hand-me-downs from friends and family, we’ve spent the better part of two decades collecting jackets, hats, sweaters, accessories, and more. 415 Sports is a celebration of the 49ers, Giants, and Warriors and a cataloging of our personal collections.
